[Sputnik-list] Translation table format

Hello there,
The current (trunk) Sputnik locale table has the following formats:
For terms in english supposed to be identical do the entry ID:
Edit = {
ru = "Редактировать",
pt = "Editar",
}
or
For terms in english explicitly declared as the default/english version:
by_author1 = { "by $author1",
ru = "от $author1",
pt = "por $author1",
}
In order to avoid different fields usage or obscure default assumptions, I
would like to suggest a clearer syntax like:
msg_id = {
en = "text for english version",
ru = "text for ru version",
pt = "text for portuguese version",
.........
}
If the default language really needs to be taken from the locale table (and
not from a config option elsewhere), something like the following syntax
might be better:
msg_id = (
default = "default text to be shown if no locale defined",
.......... or
def = "default text to be shown if no locale defined",
..........
}
I personally prefere the former format.
We might also change the Brazilian Portuguese locale Key to br, instead of
pt, to distinguish from an eventual future Portugal / African Portuguese.
I have finished the first pass on the (portuguese) translation page and
we'll be refining it, maybe in an on-line Sputnik version (so everyone can
contribute) in the next days.
Tkssssssss
