[Sputnik-list] Best way to track Sputnik

I have sputnik-0.3-beta-2.1 installed and I'm wondering what is the best 
way to track the changes.  Maybe I'm missing something, but subversion 
doesn't seem to be the correct approach since I'd just be updating files 
and would then need to re-run the installer...maybe rocks?

Also, I have a lot of content in pages already.  Is there an easy way to 
update Sputnik w/out overwriting the data directory?
