First, I am having the same problem (Ubuntu 7.10). In my case this
means that no rocks get installed. It basically just as if I ran the
installer with --without-kepler flag.

Additionally, if I install xavante as a rock (either after this
aborted installation or after a clean installation with
--without-kepler), then start_xavante script is not created in "bin".
The installation process seems to go fine, there just doesn't seem to
be any way to start xavante. Is that how it's supposed to be? That
is, is xavante just a module when taken separately from Kepler/CGILua?

In this case, is there any documentation on how to use it? Xavante
page has one example, but it seems to assume that CGILua is
installed... I also tried Fabio's instructions from
http://lists.luaforge.net/pipermail/kepler-project/2008-January/002160.html,
but I get an error message, whether trying to run my old sputnik.ws,
or when running hello.lua from the WSAPI manual.

In particular, is there an easy way to launch xavante telling it to
just call a specific wsapi run function for each request?
